HOT POT MIX – 3RACHA Album Packaging
For this packaging design project, I created a rigid box album concept for 3RACHA titled “Hot Pot Mix” — a playful, conceptual album that connects the heat of their music to the communal energy of cooking. 3RACHA, the hip-hop-focused sub-unit of Stray Kids, is known for their bold lyricism, self-production, and fiery chemistry. This packaging celebrates that DIY spirit and the idea of music as a meal — something cooked up with heart, spice, and creativity.
Perfect — here's your updated design narrative for Hot Pot Mix with all your clever elements integrated:

Concept & Visual Direction:
The concept of “Hot Pot Mix” merges culinary culture with street-style hip-hop, presenting the group’s music as something that’s handmade, shared, and spiced to perfection. Drawing from the Sriracha pun embedded in their name, I pushed the idea further by styling the entire package like a hot pot experience — layered, customizable, and unforgettable.
The visuals use a color palette of spicy reds, yellows, and black, combined with paper textures and playful graphic nods to food packaging — like sauce packets, handwritten lyrics, and nutrition facts (reimagined as a track list).
Packaging Structure & Components:
Built from a rigid, two-piece box, the package opens as a magnetic flip box, with a stylized "3RACHA 1ST FULL ALBUM" at the top and a logo resembling the Sriracha packaging surrounded by the album title and all three stage names of the members. The sturdy form gives a sense of permanence, making it more than just a collector’s item — it's a reusable, functional art object.
Inside the box, each element corresponds to a part of the meal:
Lyric/Photobook = Recipe Book
Styled like a worn, well-loved recipe book, the lyric pages include “cooking instructions” (lyrics as notes) alongside candid photos, studio shots, and doodles — as if you're being taught the recipe for each track straight from 3RACHA’s kitchen.
Photocards = Sauce Packets
Each member has a personalized “sauce packet” photocard with names and nicknames given to them over the years. Bang Chans is Soy Sauce, Changbins is Mustard and Jisungs is Orange, inspired by Asian sauce packets given in a fast food restaurant to resembles the members ability to produce quality music within short periods of time.
CD Sleeve = Thank You Bag
A paper sleeve with “3RACHA” text and a little "Thank you for listening" — a nod to the classic take out bags and urban community dining, tying into 3RACHA’s global roots.
Sticker Pack = Ingredients
Stickers represent the “ingredients” of the album — two of each member and musical equipment. They can be used to “season” the recipe book or decorate the box.
Wireless Earphones = Final Sauce
A red case with the group and album name, the earphones symbolize the listener as the final ingredient — completing the hot pot mix. Just like spices activate the full flavor of a dish, the music only comes alive when it’s heard. It’s a poetic reminder that 3RACHA’s work is a collaboration between creator and listener.

Reusability & Fan Engagement:
True to 3RACHA’s value of craft and intention, this packaging invites fans to interact, remix, and reuse. The rigid box doubles as a desk organizer or photocard storage, while the earphones create an immersive, high-quality listening experience — one that can be revisited over time, not just during a comeback cycle.
Unlike standard K-pop albums, this packaging feels cohesive and collectible, grounded in storytelling and everyday relevance. Fans aren’t just consuming music — they’re being welcomed into 3RACHA’s creative kitchen.

“Hot Pot Mix” is a visual and tactile celebration of 3RACHA’s role as chefs of their own sound — mixing beats, boiling emotions, and spicing up the scene. This album packaging tells a story of heat, hunger, and harmony — where 3RACHA are the chefs, the music is the meal, and the fan is the final flavor.
